Million-Dollar Heist at the Beach Circuit: Gold Bars Stolen and Two Injured in San Miguel

A large-scale robbery occurred on the morning of Sunday, March 22, at the Beach Circuit in San Miguel. Two armed criminals intercepted César Sernaque and Elmer Valverde, who were transporting gold bars valued at over 1 million dollars, as they were heading to Callao. The attackers followed the victims for several meters before overpowering them. One of the men suffered a severe blow to the head, causing bleeding. Both were treated at the scene and then transported to the Daniel Alcides Carrión National Hospital.

The assailants, who were traveling in two black SUVs and a motorcycle, used long-range weapons to carry out the robbery. After the attack, the police located the victims and began an investigation to identify those responsible and recover the stolen gold. The incident caused great alarm among local residents who witnessed the violent scene. According to the victims, they had been contacted via WhatsApp beforehand to arrange the transport of the cargo. Authorities continue to investigate the case, while the families of the victims have chosen not to make any statements.
