Free Electric Buses in San Isidro: Route to the 7 Churches During Holy Week

The Municipality of San Isidro has launched a free electric bus service to facilitate the route to the seven churches during Holy Week. This service will begin on Thursday, April 2, and will be available from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., providing a sustainable alternative for residents and visitors wishing to participate in this religious tradition.

Six units of the “Expreso San Isidro” system will cover a specific circuit within the district. The initiative aims to improve accessibility and promote citizen participation at no cost, supported by Serenazgo personnel and traffic inspectors to ensure order and safety.

Users can board the buses at any of the churches included in the route, without prior registration. Access will be prioritized for seniors and people with disabilities, ensuring an inclusive experience.

The participating churches in this route are emblematic, including the parish of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal and Santa Mónica, among others. This activity is one of the most representative of Holy Week and attracts numerous faithful each year, so the implementation of electric buses will not only facilitate access but also contribute to more sustainable mobility in the city.
