Murder at Cevichería Las Gaviotas: Wife Demands Justice and Denies Extortion

The cevichería Las Gaviotas, located in Chorrillos, has spoken out following the murder of Filomeno Montenegro Yalán, a worker at the establishment, which occurred on Saturday, March 28. According to the National Police of Peru, the attack may be related to an extortion case, but the cevichería rejected this version in a statement. “There was no type of extortion directed towards us,” they stated.

Karina Escape, the victim’s widow, is calling for justice and requesting that nearby security cameras be reviewed to identify those responsible. She asserted that her husband never received threats and that a month and a half ago, the cevichería suffered a robbery. “He was a very beloved person. He never had problems with anyone,” she emphasized.

On the day of the attack, Filomeno was participating in a nearby event. Authorities are under pressure to clarify the case, while new videos show the moment a hitman approaches and shoots the victim in the parking lot of the establishment. The situation has raised concerns in the community, which is demanding increased security measures.
