According to the QS World University Rankings 2026, five programs from Peruvian universities have managed to position themselves among the top 100 in the world. This ranking, compiled by the British firm Quacquarelli Symonds, evaluated over 21,350 academic programs across 55 fields of knowledge, considering factors such as reputation, employability, and research.
The publication, which was made public on March 25 in Lima, highlights the Universidad Científica del Sur and the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú (PUCP) as the most outstanding Peruvian institutions. The recognized programs include: Stomatology (U. Científica del Sur): ranked 6th in Latin America. Development Studies (PUCP): ranked 51–100 in the region. Law (PUCP): ranked 91st globally. Modern Languages (PUCP): ranked 96th globally. History (PUCP): ranked 51–100 in Latin America.
This analysis also revealed that Brazil leads in the number of well-ranked programs in the region, while Colombia showed the most significant improvement. The global ranking highlights growth in areas such as Data Science and Artificial Intelligence.
