The National Office of Electoral Processes (ONPE) has decided to extend the deadline for submitting campaign expense reports to March 27. This measure, aimed at promoting transparency in the 2026 General Elections, provides more time for parties and candidates to fulfill their accountability obligations. Originally, the deadline was set for March 20, but ONPE announced the extension through its social media channels.
The reports must include data on contributions, income, and expenses from March 26, 2025, when the elections were called, until March 13, 2026. Additionally, it is necessary for the information to be supported by receipts and payment vouchers. Compliance with this report is mandatory, and failure to do so may result in fines exceeding 27,000 soles. More than 7,000 candidates for various positions, such as deputies and senators, are required to submit this document.
Submissions can be made digitally through ONPE’s Claridad platform or in person at their offices. For more information about the electoral process, you can consult this article regarding Indecopi’s warning to candidates.
