Return of Peruvians from Russia: 25 Repatriated Since April

The Peruvian Foreign Ministry has confirmed the return of seven Peruvians from Russia between May 3 and 4. With this new group, the total number of repatriated individuals since early April has reached 25. This process was facilitated by the Peruvian embassy in Moscow, which coordinated and provided the necessary logistics for their departure.

Recently, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that 18 Peruvians had successfully left Russia after seeking assistance at the diplomatic mission, where they received accommodation, food, and protection until their return was organized. Many of the repatriated individuals had traveled to the European country with job offers that turned out to be misleading, leading them to conflict zones, which raised concerns among their families in Peru. Some compatriots managed to escape and reach the embassy on their own. From there, safe conduct passes and return flights were arranged; three of them arrived in Lima after making stops in Europe.

The Foreign Ministry has decided to keep the details of these transfers confidential for security reasons and continues to monitor other Peruvians in Russia, some of whom are linked to military units.
