BTS in Peru: Fans Plant 2,000 Trees in Machu Picchu

The BTS fan community in Peru has taken a significant step in environmental conservation by planting 2,000 trees in Machu Picchu. This event took place on Monday and is part of the “One Million Trees” campaign, promoted by the Ministry of the Environment. The initiative aims to reforest the iconic archaeological park, prioritizing areas that have suffered from fires and soil degradation.

The fan club, known as Army Peru, has named their project the BTS Forest. This action is framed within the anticipation of the popular boy band’s return to Lima, scheduled for October 9 and 10. Dayana Córdoba, a representative of BTS Peru, was present during the planting, accompanied by local authorities and ministry officials who announced the campaign at a special event.

The Minister of the Environment, Nelly Paredes, emphasized the importance of this reforestation, which will include native species such as alder and queñua, essential for ecosystem recovery and resilience against climate change. The campaign will also allow fans to participate virtually, with the option to donate trees and receive official recognition for their contribution to the BTS Forest.

As we reported in this note, the protection of Machu Picchu is key to preserving the country’s natural heritage.
