Universitario de Deportes: Jean Ferrari laments crisis and recalls his successful management

Jean Ferrari, current Director of the Peruvian Football Federation, expressed his concern over the crisis facing Universitario de Deportes in the 2026 season. In a recent appearance on the program ‘Fútbol Satélite’, the former executive lamented the decisions that have led the club to a complicated situation, despite having achieved multiple titles during his tenure. “I am saddened because I created a success story in four years of management and where today, unfortunately, the results are not supporting us,” Ferrari stated. He emphasized that everything built can crumble if the achievements from previous seasons are not maintained. “When the sports results do not support us, everything else is completely sidelined,” he added. The former footballer also recalled that his initial focus was to organize the financial and administrative situation of the club so that sporting successes would be a consequence. “When I arrived at U, the first thing that needed to be organized was the house,” he explained. Universitario is scheduled to play their next match on Wednesday, April 22, against Deportivo Garcilaso at 8:30 p.m. at the Estadio Monumental, a crucial match amid this sports crisis.
