Fernanda Tomé, a player for San Martín, revealed that she participated in the match against Universitario with an injury. The athlete, known as ‘Tomezinha’, is dealing with a 4-millimeter tear in one of her hands, which has complicated her performance. “It was a tough week after the match against Circolo. There is a lot of pain and work with the physiotherapists to train as little as possible and play,” she explained in an interview with Latina Deportes.
Last Sunday, San Martín achieved a convincing 3-0 victory over Universitario in the first leg of the semifinals of the 2025-26 Peruvian Volleyball League. With this result, the team is approaching the grand final of the tournament. Tomé highlighted her team’s preparation and the support from the fans. “We know their qualities, but we also know ours. We will study them even more and we will be ready,” she stated.
The player also mentioned the affection she receives from the fans, who are essential in every match. “We have to thank them because they help us at all times and support us,” she added. The next match against Universitario will take place on Saturday, April 4.
