The 2026 season of Liga 2 in Peruvian football begins with great anticipation. Teams such as Sport Huancayo II, Ayacucho FC, and Deportivo Binacional are vying for promotion to the top tier. In this edition, 18 clubs will compete in three stages: regional phase, final phase, and playoffs. Among the new entries, Unión Minas joins the competition, alongside clubs with strong local roots like Santos FC and Deportivo Llacuabamba. Nine Peruvian coaches lead the teams, with Guillermo ‘Chemo’ del Solar at Universidad César Vallejo and Pablo Bengoechea at Universidad San Martín.
