Judge Adderly Castro Villena of the Transitional Family Court of Cerro Colorado issued three oral rulings in divorce proceedings on April 17. This initiative aims to accelerate the resolution time for these cases, reducing processing times by more than 48 days. The rulings were delivered immediately after the evidence hearings, allowing the magistrate to pronounce his decision orally after a brief suspension. This modality is designed to more efficiently address family cases in the Superior Court of Justice of Arequipa.
The implementation of oral proceedings reflects a commitment from the judiciary to prioritize principles such as procedural flexibility and the effective protection of the rights of the parties involved. On April 16, Castro had already issued a first oral ruling in this area, reaffirming the progress in the application of this practice in the Arequipa judicial district, where cases of child custody and visitation rights are also resolved.
