Fernando Armas, comedian and friend of Manolo Rojas, expressed his deep sorrow following the passing of his colleague, which occurred on the night of Friday, March 27, in La Victoria, Lima. In the program La Rotativa del Aire, Armas described the situation as a “Saturday without smiles,” reflecting the sadness this loss has generated in the artistic community.
“Manolo has left an indelible mark. His mission was to make people laugh, and we will always remember him that way,” Armas stated, highlighting Rojas’s ability to entertain both young and old. He also mentioned that anyone can relive the best moments of the actor through current technology.
The last encounter Armas had with Rojas was the previous Wednesday during the recording of El Reventonazo de la Chola. He recalls that they said goodbye with a hug, unaware of what would happen days later. “Today we were supposed to have a soccer match, but he wouldn’t be able to attend,” he recounted.
Armas also reminisced about the brotherhood he formed with Rojas and other comedians of their generation, emphasizing the respect and affection among them. “The artistic family is grieving,” he concluded, sending his condolences to Rojas’s family.
