Alfredo Benavides bid farewell to his dear friend Manolo Rojas with an emotional message following his passing, which occurred on the night of March 27 due to a heart attack. Benavides, who maintained a 35-year friendship with the comedian, expressed his sorrow on social media: “I thought you would carry my coffin,” referring to the belief that Rojas would outlive him, especially after the comedian had changed his lifestyle to improve his health.
During the tribute, Alfredo revealed that he spent more time with Manolo than with his own family. He also recalled how he encouraged him to join the successful show ‘Risas y salsas’, which catapulted him to fame. “I almost pushed you to Guille’s house (the producer),” he remarked, reminiscing about the moment he convinced Rojas to participate in the show.
Benavides also reflected on the loss of loved ones that Manolo had suffered, including his parents and brother. “Now you are with them in heaven,” he wrote, promising to be closer to Manolito, the son of the late comedian, and assuring that his mission on earth had already been fulfilled.
