Easter 2026 Pay: How Much You Will Earn if You Work on April 2 and 3 in Peru

Private sector workers who work during the Easter holidays, specifically on April 2 and 3, 2026, could receive up to three times their daily wage if they are not granted compensatory time off. This information was provided by the Legal Center of the Lima Chamber of Commerce (CCL), which reminded that this benefit is regulated by Legislative Decree 713.

According to Álvaro Gálvez, the legal area manager of the CCL, the triple remuneration consists of three components: payment for the holiday, remuneration for the work performed, and a 100% surcharge for working on non-working days. For example, a worker with a monthly salary of S/1,500 would receive an additional S/150 for each of these days worked without compensatory time off.

However, the regulations also establish exceptions. If the holiday coincides with the worker’s weekly day off, only the usual remuneration will be paid. Additionally, if the employer grants a substitute day off on another date, no additional payment will be generated.

The CCL urged companies to adequately plan staff scheduling and maintain clear communication regarding labor conditions to avoid conflicts, especially on significant dates like Easter. For more details, you can inquire about new labor regulations.
