Universitario de Deportes: Departure of Javier Rabanal and New Interim Coach

Universitario de Deportes has officially confirmed the departure of Javier Rabanal as its head coach. This announcement was made through a statement in which the club thanked the Spaniard for his work and dedication. “Club Universitario de Deportes informs the public and the cream fans that, following a meeting between the Administration and Professor Javier Rabanal, it was agreed that his tenure as head coach of the first team has ended,” the institution stated in its announcement.

Additionally, the club highlighted Rabanal’s professionalism and that of his coaching staff, wishing them success in their future endeavors. Jorge ‘Coco’ Araujo will take over as interim coach and will lead the next match against Deportivo Garcilaso for the 10th round of the Torneo Apertura. During his brief time at Universitario, Rabanal managed a total of 12 matches, achieving five victories, four draws, and three losses.
