The production company Cine de Bolsillo will release the short film titled ‘Jesus in the Desert’ on March 27, coinciding with Easter. This ninth production, lasting two minutes, addresses the 40 days that Jesus spent in the desert before his passion. “It is the first confrontation that Jesus has with the devil, who tries to tempt him in three different ways,” explains Luis Alonso Castañeda, the project’s director.
In this short film, Jesus is guided by the Holy Spirit. Castañeda mentions that they have made films for various festivities, and this time they wanted to create a short film that resonates with the modernity and reflection that Easter demands. “We aim for it to be a piece faithful to the word and entertaining, inviting everyone to reflect,” he adds.
The filmmaker highlights the relevance of modern temptations, comparing them to content from influencers on social media. “Today, temptations present themselves through cell phones, from food influencers to those who sexualize their bodies,” he comments. His vision is to make Cine de Bolsillo the leading producer in miniature cinema, a journey that began with a simple short filmed with friends.
