The Housemaid’s Secret: Release Date and Details of the Sequel Starring Sydney Sweeney

Lionsgate has confirmed the release date for The Housemaid’s Secret, the highly anticipated sequel to the successful thriller The Maid, which once again put Sydney Sweeney in the spotlight. This new installment, which will also feature Kirsten Dunst, is set to hit U.S. theaters on December 17, 2027. The announcement was made alongside the first official poster for the film, which presents the intriguing phrase: “When one door closes…”, suggesting a renewed focus on suspense.

The first film was a phenomenon, grossing nearly $400 million worldwide on a budget of approximately $35 million. In The Housemaid’s Secret, Sweeney’s character, Millie, takes on a new job as a housemaid in a home filled with secrets. The story is based on Freida McFadden’s second novel, published in 2023. In addition to Sweeney and Dunst, Michele Morrone will return as Enzo, although Amanda Seyfried’s involvement has yet to be confirmed.

The film will compete at the box office with major franchises such as Avengers: Secret Wars and The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum, which could influence its performance in theaters.
