A violent attack during the filming of the series Sin senos sí hay paraíso in Bogotá left three dead and one injured on Saturday, April 18. The incident occurred around 4 p.m. near the Roosevelt Institute in the Santa Fe locality, where the production team was filming outdoors. According to reports from the authorities, a man attacked a crew member with a scalpel, which triggered a confrontation with others present who tried to intervene. Among the deceased are Henry Benavides (45) and Nicolás Perdomo (18), while the assailant, identified as Josué Cubillos García, 23, also lost his life in the confrontation. One more person was injured and was taken to a health center. Brigadier General Giovanny Cristancho of the Metropolitan Police stated that the attack is not related to a robbery. “Unfortunately, these were acts of intolerance,” he indicated. Four people have been detained and are under the supervision of the Attorney General’s Office while the events are being investigated. The tragedy has caused shock in the audiovisual industry, leading the Ministry of Cultures of Colombia to express its solidarity with the victims, while the National Alliance of Audiovisual Workers has called for improved security on film sets, a topic that has gained relevance following this incident.
