This Sunday, April 12, during the 2026 general elections, public transport in Metropolitan Lima and Callao will operate on a special schedule. The Urban Transport Authority (ATU) reported that services will run from 5:00 a.m., facilitating access to polling stations. David Hernández, executive president of the ATU, emphasized that the schedule will be similar to that of a regular workday, unlike the usual Sundays when service starts between 6:00 and 6:30 a.m. “We are organizing shifts so that drivers can exercise their right to vote without interrupting the service,” he stated.
The schedules for the main services are as follows: Metropolitano: from 5:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. with regular services A, B, and C. Line 1 of the Metro: from 5:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., with 350 trips. Complementary corridors: from 5:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. Additionally, regular transport services will operate from 4:30 a.m. to midnight, and authorized taxis will be available 24 hours a day.
