Six alleged members of the criminal gang Los Bendecidos del Terror were arrested by the National Police of Peru (PNP) during an operation in Huaycán. Authorities reported that one of the detainees is linked to an armed attack that left second sub-official Edgar Galván Bastidas injured on March 30, while he was trying to prevent a robbery in the R area.
The detainees, identified as J.T.H. (alias ‘Wini’), A.M.A. (alias ‘Vito’), J.L. (alias ‘Nero’), S.P.M. (alias ‘Pelado’), Y.R.A. (alias ‘Marin’), and W.D.C.B. (alias ‘Mari’), attempted to flee when caught off guard but were apprehended on the spot. During the intervention, various items were seized, including three firearms, ammunition of different calibers, a grenade, and marijuana.
Sub-official Galván was transported to the National PNP Hospital Luis Sáenz after being injured, while the other two affected civilians also received medical attention at an emergency center. This incident highlights the growing concern over violence in the area, as evidenced by other reports related to crime in the country.
