The Miraflores cable car has entered its technical testing phase in Lima, marking an important step towards its opening. This new transportation system, which will connect the Miraflores boardwalk with Redondo Beach on the Costa Verde, already has its stations completed and is currently undergoing functionality verification to ensure service safety. It is estimated that the cable car could begin operations in approximately seven weeks, although this timeline will depend on the results of the tests.
During this phase, technicians are reviewing the performance of the cabins, cables, brakes, and other system components. Any necessary adjustments could delay the launch date. The route spans 310 meters and will take about three minutes to complete. Each cabin, designed for 15 passengers, will cost S/15 for a round trip. Additionally, access for wheelchairs, bicycles, and surfboards has been included, making this project a mobility alternative and a tourist attraction due to its coastal views.
