Senamhi Warns of Winds Up to 46 km/h on the Peruvian Coast for Autumn 2026

The onset of autumn 2026 brings adverse weather conditions to the Peruvian coast. The National Service of Meteorology and Hydrology (Senamhi) has issued a red alert due to winds that could reach up to 46 km/h in various coastal regions. The warning is in effect from Sunday, March 22 at 00:00 hours until Tuesday, March 24 at 23:59. The most affected areas include Áncash, Arequipa, Ica, and Lima, among others.

Senamhi warns that, in addition to strong winds, reduced visibility and the presence of suspended dust are expected. The forecast indicates that on Sunday, the northern coast will experience winds of approximately 32 km/h, while the central coast will reach 34 km/h. In Ica, gusts are anticipated to be close to 40 km/h. For Monday, an increase is expected on the northern coast, with winds approaching 37 km/h, and on Tuesday, conditions will return to figures similar to those on Sunday.
