As of March 20, only nine of the 36 presidential tickets participating in the 2026 General Elections have submitted their first report of income and expenses to the National Office of Electoral Processes (ONPE). This report is legally required and pertains to the private financing data of the groups. Due to the lack of information submission from 27 groups, ONPE has decided to extend the deadline to March 27.
According to ONPE data, the party with the highest funding so far is Alianza para el Progreso, which reported income of over S/ 7.2 million and expenses exceeding S/ 7.2 million as well. Other parties, such as Fuerza Popular and Renovación Popular, reported significantly lower income and expenses, with figures around S/ 590 thousand and S/ 573 thousand, respectively.
It is important to mention that this report is just part of the transparency obligation that also affects parliamentary candidates. In total, more than 5,000 candidates did not submit their campaign report, representing 66.45% of the total.
