Delsy Romero, the general secretary of the País para Todos (PPT) party, has not denied her alleged relationship with Vladimir Meza, co-founder of the same organization and presidential candidate Carlos Álvarez. When asked about the connection, Romero stated that the matter is personal and not of public interest.
Meza’s wife, Miriam Hidalgo, has accused her partner of infidelity, claiming that he maintained a relationship with Romero. Reports suggest that both were out of the country for 32 days on several occasions while Meza was still married. The trips include a journey to Colombia in August 2023 and another to Spain in April 2024, where they stayed for a month.
Romero emphasized that questions about her private life are not relevant in the political arena. However, this conflict is considered to have public implications, as it involves figures aspiring to significant elected positions. Additionally, Álvarez, the presidential candidate, is aware of the situation, and his statement on the matter is still awaited.
