2026 Elections: 60% of Results to Be Announced by Midnight on April 12

The head of the National Office of Electoral Processes (ONPE), Piero Corvetto, announced that the results of the 2026 General Elections will be known at 60% by midnight on April 12. This process will include the election of the president, congress members, and representatives to the Andean Parliament.

Corvetto detailed that starting at 5 PM, results will begin to be published on the ONPE website, with updates every 15 minutes. However, it was not specified when the total results would be accessible, as there may be contested ballots that could delay the final count.

After the polling stations close, the electoral materials will be transported to the counting centers. According to the official, the first results are expected to come from Oceania, although their impact on the total processed will be minimal. It is estimated that the counting will take about two hours, so results will start to increase between 7:30 PM and 8:00 PM.

“We will prioritize the electoral materials to first deliver the presidential result, then the senators, and finally the deputies and Andean Parliament results,” added Corvetto. For more details on the electoral campaign, you can read about Carlos Álvarez’s proposals.
