The entertainment world in Peru is in mourning following the death of renowned comedian Manolo Rojas, who passed away at the age of 63. His death, confirmed this Friday, has deeply affected his colleagues and fans, particularly Hernán Vidaurre, his partner on the show ‘Los Chistosos’. “I have such great, deep pain. A brother has gone, a brother whom I adore and will adore for life,” Vidaurre expressed in a communication with RPP.
Over the years, the two shared the stage, forging a bond that went beyond the professional. Vidaurre, visibly affected, indicated that he is still struggling to process the loss of his friend: “I can’t believe my dear little friend Manuelito Rojas is no longer with us. I love him like a brother,” he added.
Rojas left a significant void in national comedy and in the RPP family, where he had worked for many years. Other artists have also expressed their sadness at the news. Pablo Villanueva, known as ‘Melcochita’, recalled the admiration he shared with Rojas, while actress Claudia Serpa lamented the projects the comedian still had on his agenda, such as a show he planned to launch in Barranco.
