US and Israel Attacks in Iran: At Least 17 Dead and Damage in Tehran

At least 17 people have lost their lives in Iran following a new bombing offensive by the United States and Israel. According to reports from agencies linked to the Iranian government, the attacks were carried out in several locations, including Ghal’eh Mir, where thirteen victims were reported after strikes hit two homes. Local authorities have initiated rescue operations in the Baharestan region, where it is believed that people are trapped under the rubble.

Additionally, fatalities were reported in an attack on residential areas in eastern Tehran, which left four dead and seven injured, with multiple buildings severely damaged. The offensive also impacted Sharif University, resulting in the destruction of energy facilities that caused a blackout in the northeast of the capital. Images from the university mosque show collapsed ceilings and broken glass, highlighting the extent of the damage.

Since the onset of the conflict, more than 30 universities have been attacked, resulting in the deaths of 60 students and five professors, according to reports. The US-based NGO HRANA has raised the total death toll to over 3,400, including more than 1,500 civilians. Amid this crisis, President Donald Trump threatened to intensify the offensive if Iran does not unblock the Strait of Hormuz.
