Regatas achieved an exciting victory against Universitario de Deportes, winning 3-2 in a decisive quarterfinal match of the Peruvian Volleyball League. The libero of the Chorrillos team, Rachell Hidalgo, highlighted the ‘determination’ shown by her teammates, which allowed them to level the overall score and force a tiebreaker match. The encounter, held last Saturday, concluded with set scores of 25-19, 26-28, 25-18, 21-25, and 18-16.
Hidalgo noted that the defeat suffered in the first match was crucial for the team to react and prepare better. ‘We worked very hard during the week to achieve this victory. We absolutely had to win, and we did,’ she stated after the match. The volleyball player also mentioned that the key to their success lay in the ‘consistency, harmony, and unity’ among the players.
Regarding the upcoming tiebreaker, scheduled for Wednesday, March 25, at the Polideportivo Lucha Fuentes in Villa El Salvador, Hidalgo emphasized the importance of maintaining the same level of effort and learning from the mistakes made. ‘We are going to give it our all to come out with the victory,’ she concluded.
