In the early hours of this Sunday, a patrol car from the National Police of Peru was involved in an accident in the Lima District, resulting in two officers injured. The collision occurred at the intersection of Petit Thouars Avenue and Manuel Segura Street, where the patrol car ended up overturned on the road. Both officers were transported to the National Police Hospital for medical attention.
According to Juan José Bardales, commander of the General Corps of Volunteer Firefighters, the driver of the pickup truck involved did not suffer any injuries. “It was a traffic accident between a national police vehicle and a private vehicle whose driver stated he was not injured,” Bardales indicated.
Due to the accident, vehicular traffic in the area had to be suspended while firefighters carried out rescue operations and removed the patrol car from Petit Thouars Avenue. This incident adds to other recent events in the area, such as the shooting at the ‘Los Andes’ venue that left one dead and two injured, a situation that has raised concerns in the community, as we reported in this note.
