The Lima East Prosecutor’s Office has launched an investigation into the case of nurse Elvira Mallqui Anchillo, 30, who was found dead in her room in the district of Santa Anita. The institution confirmed via its X account (formerly Twitter) that the body was discovered in a rented home, and the causes of her death are being determined.
The case is under the responsibility of Provincial Prosecutor Liliana Dávila Olórtegui, who, along with forensic personnel, conducted the recovery of the body in the presence of a medical examiner. The police have also been asked to identify the main suspect, a man who shared the residence with the victim, according to family members.
Mallqui’s relatives have expressed their shock and demanded justice. A relative commented to RPP that the young woman had bruises on various parts of her body, raising suspicions of possible homicide. “We want justice. She was a girl with dreams, supporting her family,” stated a family member.
Additionally, they reported that valuable items belonging to the nurse, including her cellphone and laptop, were stolen from her room. The family is calling for swift action in the investigation to capture the suspect in the crime.
