Lambayeque: Two Teenagers Drown in the La Leche River

A tragedy has struck Lambayeque. Two 16-year-old teenagers lost their lives drowning in the La Leche River, in the Batán Grande sector of the Pítipo district. According to reports from their families, the youths were near the Magdalena gate when they were swept away by the river’s strong current. Neighbors managed to recover the body of one of the minors, who had already been carried away by the waters. However, the other teenager has yet to be located. So far, family members, friends, and agents from the Police Search and Rescue Subunit continue to scour the river area in search of the second body. This tragic event has caused distress in the local community, which remains vigilant due to the rising river levels in the region.
