Érika Villalobos reminisced about her relationship with Gabriel Calvo during the filming of the telenovela Torbellino, which aired in 1997. In a recent interview, the actress highlighted the popularity of the cast, especially among fans of the musical band that emerged from the series. “They were crazy about the guys… each one was different,” she commented about her co-stars, which included Bárbara Cayo and Marco Zunino, among others.
Regarding her romance with Calvo, Villalobos recalled it as a beautiful chapter in her life, although both eventually took different paths. “Everything in its time. It’s all good, and well, each took their own route,” she assured. Despite the years, they maintain a cordial relationship and have crossed paths on some television programs.
As for the ending of Torbellino, the actress explained that there were proposals to continue the franchise, but the owner of the brand chose not to move forward. “It was like his ‘hobby’ at that time,” she lamented. Although sequels were made, such as Boulevard Torbellino and Torbellino: 20 Years Later, the plans for expansion were ultimately discarded.
