Starting April 1, taxi drivers using Compressed Natural Gas (GNV) can access a subsidy of S/120, enabled by the Ministry of Energy and Mines (MINEM). This measure aims to mitigate the impact of rising fuel prices, which have severely affected the transportation sector.
To check eligibility, drivers must register on the government’s official platform: https://infogas.cloudservicebc3.com/. Upon entering, they will need to provide their vehicle’s license plate and the number of the Unique Circulation Card (TUC). Once the information is validated, a service station will be selected to apply the discount, which will be activated automatically from the third business day after registration.
Requirements include having a valid authorization to operate as a taxi driver and being registered with the Urban Transport Authority (ATU) of Lima and Callao or in provincial municipalities of Ica. So far, more than 10,000 taxi drivers have accessed the subsidy, which will be available until December 31, 2026.
The implementation of this bonus responds to a 7.86% increase in transportation prices during March, caused by the rising costs of natural gas and liquid fuels. For more information on other economic benefits, you can check the payment schedule for pensioners under Law 19990 here.
