Rodolfo Acuña Completes His Team at the MEF: New Deputy Ministers of Economy and Finance

On March 25, the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) announced the appointment of new deputy ministers for Economy and Finance, following the recent inauguration of Rodolfo Acuña. The decision was formalized through resolutions published in El Peruano.

Eloy Durán Cervantes will assume the role of Deputy Minister of Economy. Durán is an economist trained at the Universidad del Pacífico and has experience in both the public and private sectors. Previously, he served as the General Director of Public Investment and the General Director of Multiannual Investment Programming within the MEF, as well as having worked at the National Superintendency of Customs and Tax Administration (Sunat) and EsSalud.

Meanwhile, José Armando Calderón Valenzuela will take charge of the Deputy Ministry of Finance. Calderón, also an economist, has a strong background in public sector financial management, having held significant positions in the General Directorate of Public Budget and as Deputy Minister of Finance from August to December 2022. His experience includes managing infrastructure projects with organizations such as the Inter-American Development Bank and the United Nations Development Programme.
