In a tragic incident, at least 60 Alianza Lima fans were injured during a rally held at the Alejandro Villanueva Stadium in La Victoria. The collapse of a structure in the south stand of the sports venue occurred just one day before the highly anticipated Peruvian football clásico, where Alianza will face Universitario de Deportes.
According to the Ministry of Health (Minsa), the affected individuals are being evaluated and treated. Eight units of the Mobile Emergency Care Service (SAMU) were deployed to provide pre-hospital care, in coordination with the General Corps of Firefighters. Of the injured, three have been transferred to the National Hospital Arzobispo Loayza, while other hospitals, such as the National Dos de Mayo, have been alerted to the possible arrival of more patients.
The Health Emergency Operations Center (COES Salud) is monitoring the situation and coordinating the health response. The match between Universitario and Alianza Lima is scheduled to take place on April 4 at the Monumental Stadium at 8 PM (Peruvian time).
